I know this thread is old, but I wanted to post in it to say that Societies can be a lot of fun IF a person isn't expecting it to be a zone-and-let-it-build kind of game. If someone just enjoys trying to be creative and experimenting a lot, it's an absolute blast.
I was getting kind of weary of the whole zone-and-grow playstyle of SimCity, where SC4 turned into more of a traffic manager than anything else. SC:S takes a whole other turn. I think my overall favorite SimCity game is SC:3000 because I can build a single city without having to manage a half-dozen towns just to make one grow. I found that an annoying aspect of SC:4.
I am, however, quite happy that I didn't join the original rush to get it upon release because I was able to pick up my copy later for around $10, plus bought a strategy guide for around $3.

Medal of honor frontline cheats. The add-on introduces over a hundred new buildings of different types and purposes: starting with five-star hotels to a crash site of an alien ship. In the expansion pack, which focuses a lot on the touristic aspect, there is no shortage of all kinds of tourists. There are over 35 new kinds of Sims. Among them, we can find businessmen, cultists, pilgrims, politicians, or globetrotters.
Destinations also offers improved options of goods transit, including water and air transport. The map editor was also improved.
