If one or more players are left behind on a mission, a follow-on rescue mission launches (can either be automatic or voted on) that can potentially turn a failed mission (the leave no dwarf behind bonus) into a successful one:. players that successfully left in the drop pod on the previous mission come back fully stocked and healed. the game takes a snapshot of locations for all dwarves left behind. The rescue drop pod is dropped in a location that is equal (or nearly) distance away from those snapshot locations.
at each of those snapshot locations, a temporary shelter/bunker is dropped in (can hold up to three dwarves in case all three were left in the same location from the previous mission). the bunker will defibrillate any downed dwarves so they can take shelter.
a new timer starts, which counts down between increasingly harder waves of enemies at each of the bunker locations. the rescue team must visit each of these bunker locations to extract the dwarf pinned down there. Alternately, the bunkered dwarf can attempt to make it to the rescue pod. the rescue pod stays in place until all players are in the extraction zone near the seats.
if all dwarves go down, the rescue mission is failed and the previous normal mission is also failed, resulting in zero xp, gold, cash, gems, or any other loot gathered on the rescue mission (all or nothing concept). I love this idea, especially if mobility gadgets were disabled for the dwarves in need of rescue. I feel like it would work amazingly if you could do rescue missions with AI that represent the fallen players. If you successfully save them you get not only what you mined, but also a cut of what they mined. Upon completion, the miners you saved get a notification saying their dwarves were recovered and they can then claim their slightly reduced rewards from the assignment board or crew quarters terminal. There are several problems I see with this.1- More than one dwarf surviving only nets you extra gold.
With this type of mission you are suggesting to risk EVEYTHING (minerals, exp and gold) just for earn the small bonus gold of other three dwarves surviving, without earning any extras. Not worth the risk in any way you see it.2- what do the dwarves that are not in the rescue team do?
They are downed and literally do nothing until they are rescued? Because that would be boring as hell for the dwarves not in the rescue team. Are they able to fight, but they cannot leave the shelter?

Same problem as being downed and wait. Are they full ammo and HP, or halfway there? They can just go to the escape pod themselves without waiting rescue.3-what happens in a public lobby if 3 dwarves want to do that, but one of them doesn't want to? Is he forced into the mission, is he kicked from the group, the extra mission is canceled?4- if this mission is too long (as long as a normal mission) then it's not worth to go rescue a team for 75% of rewards when you could do a mission yourself and get 100% of rewards.
If it's much shorter, then it will become the best and fastest way to earn minerals, exp and gold, since you can get 75% rewards of a full mission for something that lasts less than a mission.Overall sounds like an interesting idea, but a hell to implement and balance rewards wise and do it's not boring for the ones being rescued.
