Battlegrounds has an investment system. To get payout, you need to invest resources. This means your troops. You pay resources for troops, that's their worth it the BG. Don’t put the troops that the BG give to you back in. Just hit them with the troops that you make up until like level 30. It is an investment.
This tactic doesn't work on lower levels. Mission is highest level BG. All other levels are non-mission. Because when you kill it, you get bonus exp.
Example: You have level 31 offense (Red) and level 31 defense (Green). Both are mission.
You kill the defense one. Now you have a level 32 defense mission, and a level 31 offense non-mission. Mission will start to give you troops. It is a partial payout.
This Does NOT mean the non-mission will pay. But you're closer to getting non mission payout. This partial payout strays from the troops you have already killed in the BG. You need to invest (kill) 70% of your previous non mission payout (resource value) before hitting a full non mission. 85% if your non mission is empty. These are approximate values. If mission give you troops or resources back, that affects the algorithm.
So, climb ladder of missions then hit non mission. Hit as many missions as you can. You got understand they run off of an algorithm. You need to be an avid builder. ALWAYS PUT MORE TROOPS THAT YOU BUILT INTO THE BG. Do not send mutated or imperial units or troops you pay with amulets of mara to the BG.
They have reduced resource value to BG. Not to mentions, they are valuable. They cost half the food per hour. Why waste those? They are also no renewable.
You'll need that reduced cost of power later. While you are hitting BG, upgrade your troops in the lost arts. Nevertheless, it is still easy to burn out. Sometimes you only have enough troops left to kill 95% of one BG, and 80% of the opposite another. Part of the game.
Time for you to build and upgrade. Just save the troops that you need to use (your raiding troops). BTW, I've been doing this since 2012. I have more experience and have done it with way more accounts. I've spent money.
Each one of you will have different results. TAKE YOUR TIME!! Keep track of what your winning and losing. Test hit if it's a close call. If you hit a castle or beacon with your winnings, that's fine, you just have to rebuild your losses.
Same if you hit someone with your troops that you made, you got rebuild. That's what it's all about. Good luck and happy castle storming.

Rebuilding Beacons will take vast amounts of resources and close coordination. No single Lord among you can do it alone - to join this battle you must join a League, or start your own.Beacons can be found throughout Stormfall. They may be heavily defended by Balur's orcs or rival Leagues - so plan your attack carefully.Any League that captures a Beacon must defend it from increasingly powerful waves of the Black Horde. The battle will be brutal, but you will have one secret weapon. The enchantments woven into the foundations each Beacon have the power to trap the Dark Essence of all of Balur's spawn slain while attacking it. Your League may use this Essence to perform a dark ritual to 'Darken' your own units - reducing their need for food, increasing their strength, and improving their effectiveness in combat.
Once you have taken a Beacon, you must begin rebuilding it with Resources. As it is rebuilt, each Beacon's Defensive Bonus; Dark Essence collection efficiency; Dark Essence Storage Capacity; and effective range of protection will increase - along with the range of unit types it can Darken. Beacon RangeThe extent of influence a Beacon has on surrounding territory is determined by the Beacon's Range.
This is calculated according to its upgrade level and proximity to adjoining Beacons controlled by the same League. This means that two Beacons of identical upgrade levels can have different Ranges. If a Beacon is positioned adjacent to one or more Beacons owned by the same League, it will have a higher range - so try and capture as many adjoining Beacons as possible. The total output of all Beacons controlled by your League will be the sole factor determining your League's position in the League Rankings and influence on the Imperial Map.

Upgrading BeaconsOnce a League has captured a Beacon, its Members must pool their resources towards upgrading it. Every League Member can contribute resources towards the Beacon's next upgrade level. The progress bar will display the League's collected contribution.
Once the progress bar is full, the Beacon will upgrade to the next level and its range and power will increase. If a League's Beacon is captured, it automatically loses 1 Level an hour. If a League succeeds in re-capturing the Beacon within 60 minutes after it's been captured by another League, the Beacon will retain its current level.You can get information about your League's Beacon in your Grand Marshal's reports. Your Lord Steward will inform you on Resource deliveries to the Beacons. Imperial MapThe Imperial Map is a scale on the game Map that displays Leagues according to their political influence. To view the Imperial Map, go to the Map and select one of the scale buttons in the upper right corner of the screen (just below the 'Castle' button).League Marshals and League Captains can designate the combatant status of other Leagues from the 'Leagues' tab at the Embassy.
Find the League you wish to designate from the League list, then mark them as either Neutral, Enemy, or Allied.
