A world in anarchy, united under your command., a hardcore tabletop-like strategy game, is available now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com.is not here to make friends. It's here to be as deep, complex, and detailed as they come, mastering the ins and outs of this strategy title is an endeavor, but so worth the effort.

The game features a sophisticated military command system across hundreds of locations, territories and units. The world map, built on high-resolution NASA satellite imagery is a vast and authentic recreation of the world map, all at your fingertips.also includes the Global Crisis expansion pack, which expands the game with new scenarios, units, an improved interface and much, much more.Unite the fragmented states of the world in, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! Huinehtar: Interesting release!Back in the day, I always wanted to try a 'very big timeline game' with the additions of some Paradox games, from 1066 to 2000+ (with Supreme Ruler Cold War between Hearts of Iron 2 and the last Supreme Ruler games). But it needed a lot of time ^^.Perhaps something is planned to play a big campaign from Supreme Ruler 1936 to Supreme Ruler 2020 instead? Actually Battlegoats last game covers the timeframe from 1936 to 2070 I think. Unfortunately the game is for now only available on. Rodor: They completely killed the fun of Supreme Ruler 2010.

This game's pretty awesome, and I have only one beef about itThe fastest game speed setting is way too slow. but there's a lot of pros.

Previous game was turn-based, that is essential for gameplay mechanics and lot of content of SR. Real-time mechanics doesn't suit for such type of a game. So if you have SR2010 and liked it - stay away of this one, you may spoil the pleasure. A little tangential off-topic (or not) question: As someone that enjoyed Supreme Ruler 2010, what was it that made it fun? I have considered getting it, but the most-helpful review here seems to have a lot of criticism, so I am curious from your perspective if any of that has merit.On-topic: For the kind of game Supreme Ruler 2020 is, I get the impression that real-time would only work if operates like Paradox's EU3 (where one can still pause and study the data and combat is not a click-fest).

Jackster79: what was it that made it fun? I wouldn't say I had very much fun of SR2010.:) It's not because of the game itself, just because of my gaming nature in those times I played it.

I never had enough patience and time to play really complex games as SR2010 is. It has very deep and realistic model of economics, politics and warfare of contemporary world. I used to like to take under my rule some 'exotic' country, e.g.

Honduras or Mozambique, and trying to lead it to prosperity. But I never finished any single game to be honest.:) There were so many other games around there, and I was eager to play them all.:)So the main fun of SR2010 for me it was the enjoy of constant step-by-step grow in power. It's like as you play Footbal (FIFA) Manager as some English lower league team, and after 5-6 years of development you play against Manchester United in English Cup final. (if you catch my thought). So if you like something like this, you'd like SR2010. Maybe someone could describe this game and its fun in other words. Midtown madness 3 review. Enter Midtown Madness 3. Although it is a much different experience than Vice City, MM3 offers some of the most fleshed-out game environments we've seen this or any year. Midtown Madness 3 Review First Released Jun. Third entry in the Midtown Madness series is exclusive to the Xbox and has been developed by DICE, the company behind another successful Xbox.

(if you catch my thought). So if you like something like this, you'd like SR2010. Maybe someone could describe this game and its fun in other words. I think you did just fine.:-)It helps knowing what motivates a person to play a particular game when they say they enjoy it, because what that person gets out of the game may or may not be the same as what I am looking for. Cool thing is, whether I share the same motivation/drive or not I find such topics fascinating.Thank you for sharing. You're welcome. As for criticism about SR2010, it's a game of such type in which the amount of content and sophisticated mechanics inevitably lead to some discomfort points, whether it's GUI clunkiness, or menu redundancy, or whatever else similar.Master of Orion 3 is a good example of such type of game.

If you're familiar with it, you know what I mean. For me though it's one of the best TBS of all times.:) In not of the best implementation, alas.Dominions series (my addiction of nowadays) is another good example. It's all about your aim and what you want to get from a game. For me there are two types of games.First one - when a game is like movie, it gives you a elaborated, realistic world (think of 3D, shaders and similar stuff), which you have to behold and dive into. But in these games I'm just a spectator, not an author nor co-creator (of a sort).Second one - when a game is like gaming board or tabletop game, you have only your imagination to create whatever world you want to live in.

Visually these games may look bland or abstract but the best graphic adapter is in your head, right?;) Maybe, it's the legacy of my long-gone childhood when no sign of computer era was on the horizon, and I was creating worlds only in my head with little help of toy soldiers.:).
